THE STONE ROLLED AWAY

by edward potts

I am the stone
that was rolled away,
No power on earth
could make me stay,
For mightier forces
than those known to man,
Were leaving the tomb
and would soon shake the land

Satan's power is limited
by a greater power you see,
The force that was stronger
came pushing on me,
And the tomb I was guarding
was left empty and bare,
Except for the two angels
that were standing there.

I was scared and surprised
when that power pushed on me,
For it came from within
as you must see,
The One who had been there
was God's only Son,
The voice of creation
earth. moon, and sun.

The soldiers were startled
as I rolled away,
As out of the tomb
came the Ancient of Days,
The Rock of all Ages
came forth as foretold,
By Moses, Eliah, and
the prophets of old.

I'm just a big stone
lying here on the ground,
That visitors by millions
keep walking around,
But if they would believe
what happened to me,
From the wages of sin
their life would be free.

I'll still be just a stone
when that last trumpet sounds
Graves by the millions
will split thru the mounds,
Unbelievers will see
All the truth I have told,
As the Lamb that was slain
His face they'll behold.

It says in the last days
the stones will praise Him,
And I will be only one
of millions of them,
For I know the meaning
of that wonderful day,
As the love of God touched me
and power rolled me aweay.

If stones in your life
just will not go away,
Then get on your knees
and to God you must pray,
The power that moved me
will come to your side,
Your stone will be moved
by a great power inside.
