The Wal-Mart Greeter

by tisha todd © 2005

He stands at the North Door
and as each one enters in
He hands them a cart
greets each one with a grin.

Seems they all know him
As they walk over his way
He's the Wal-Mart greeter,
Ed is his name.

He's done this for years,
Worked overtime and more
even though he's retired
He still stands at the door.

No matter how busy or tired he
might feel,
He'll still hand out those carts,
stand and listen to others ills.

He'll smile and he'll tell them
about a poem he just wrote
and before they leave
He has them smiling at his jokes.

A special gift from the Father
in heaven above,
This Wal-Mart greeter
Is the Dad we all love!

We cherish his stories, his poems,
songs he's wrote
And when we go to Wal-Mart,
why, we even laugh at his jokes.

So, the North Door is favored by
friends,family and all
Because of this greeter,
Wal-Mart stands tall.
