Kindness makes the coffee
Not just drinks a cup
In everything it does
Kindness looks Up
It searches the scene
Scoping out danger
Before guiding the path
Of a friend, or a stranger
It seeks not its own
Comfort or rest
Kindness helps strengthen
The straw in each nest
It never is selfish
It gives all it can
Less to itself
And more to each man
Kindness is breathing
Then sharing the air
Not just giving up
Your seat or a chair
But giving yourself
And all you can give
Kindness becomes
The reason you live

A long time ago
Though still prevalent today
Kindness was shown
In another way
Nailed to a cross
For no reason at all
Suffering in anguish
Taking the fall
Honoring His Father
Drinking His cup
Removing His crown
Kindness looked Up
He searches the scene
Before guiding our path
Preparing the waters
Where our souls take a bath
Watching over each nest
Of the sparrow who flies
Opens our hearts
While opening our eyes

Kindness is breathing
Then sharing the air
Not just giving up
Your Throne or a chair
But giving your all
All you can give
You must die to yourself
Before kindness can live...
