Alone, yet never alone

by edward potts

I live alone, yet I'm never alone,
My Father in heaven calls me one of His own,
I can feel His presence, He's always near,
He knows when I worry, He calms all my fears.

He's God of the Heavens and all the earth,
His word was given and it created their birth,
He created all animals, plants, and fish of the sea,
Then before He rested, He created Adam and Eve.

His power is awesome, yet His love is divine,
He's wonderful, omnipotent, and very very kind,
He watches over me when I'm asleep,
He dries my tears whenever I weep.

He never forsakes me when I go astray,
His voice is so gentle to get me back in the way,
He's merciful, forgiving, He's the Ancient of Days,
He's always caring, He deserves all my praise.

Although I live alone, my house is filled,
By the presence of the Holy Spirit my song is never stilled,
Although I can't see Him we're never apart,
His love comes to me with each beat of my heart.
