Christmas Angels and Shepherds

by Albert Watson

Christmas my friends has come once again,
But what is the truth what's the traditions of men.
We've heard of those shepherds in fields nearby,
And of the many angels that appeared in the sky.

I ask read the scripture and see what is right,
an angel in the midst on that wonderful night.
The angel stood by them right there on the ground
It says the Lords glory, as well shone around.

So, understand now why they became terrified.
I guess you an I would, should one stand by our side.
"Don't be afraid, I bring news of great joy,
In Bethlehem's town there's the birth of a boy"

"A Saviour The Christ the Lords born to you,
You'll find in swaddling in a stable go and view."
Then suddenly to join them the heavenly host.
they stood with the angel and sang this riposte

"Most glorious praise to our God upon high
This word we bring to you folk standing by.
Peace upon earth God gives of His best
To those of mankind on whom His favour doth rest."

They return to Heaven, the shepherds in awe,
Look for a manger, find Babe lain in straw.
Imagine the emotion of His Mom and Dad,
As shepherds tell story concerning their lad.

Then upon leaving, they each spread the word,
Of hundreds of angels and what they had heard.
We bless you dear shepherds for what you relate,
Then off to their sheep, praising God who's so great.
