JESUS

by James Stage Jr

His name was Jesus. He came to earth that night.
Born in a stable low.
And as the heavenly host shined bright.
Followed kings that wondrous glow.

His name was Jesus. He walked those dusty roads.
Saving souls foremost in His mind.
In search of those with heavy loads.
Lost sheep which He would find.

His name was Jesus. With those hands so strong and kind.
That nailed we to the tree.
Cleansed disease and raised the dead.
Then bade them "walk with Me".

His name was Jesus. Behold Gethsemane.
Our cup within His hand.
The stones on which He bled cried out.
"Oh Worthy Is The Lamb"!

His name was Jesus. Behold Him on that cross.
As darkness shrouds Mount Calvary.
He cried and bled and died what cost!
All this for you and for me.

His name was Jesus. Placed within that tomb.
Where no ones' head had lain.
He rested in that night of gloom.
Disciples fled in shame.

Thus this story not quite told.
No one that tomb within.
He burst forth glorious, bright and bold.
Tis now the death of sin.

Amen !
