The Boy King

by Albert Watson

Heavens rent angels joy
Telling of a royal boy.
Not in palace, golden bed,
Just a lowly cattle shed.
Shepherds suffer shock and awe,
Discover baby lain in straw.
Noble sages from afar,
Study heavens, notice star.
Gifts to Jerusalem they bring,
Enquiring birth-place of new king.
Jewish priest reveal to them,
He'll be born in Bethlehem.
Guiding star leads them there
Offer gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Joy, worship they also bring.
To the Boy Heavens gift of King.
