The Great Conductor

by Natalie Sebastian © 2008

There's a boy in the world
And he looks at the stars
And he asks them how they are...
Have they traveled far...
From their view up there,
Do they mind his stares...
Where are they going

There's a girl in the world
And she looks at the moon
And she asks it for a tune...
Will it sing it soon...
From the view up there,
Does it mind her stares...
Where is it going

Days in motion
Time unwinds
The Great Conductor
Leads and pines
His creation
His delight
Evidenced by His moon and His stars of sky and night

There's a man in a field
And he tills the dirt
And he asks it what it's worth...
Will fruit come of its earth...
From the labor and sweat,
Will he find regret...
Will it show its promise

There's a woman in a field
And she sows the seed
And she asks it will it sprout...
Even through the drought...
From the labor and sweat,
Will she find regret...
Will it show its promise

Days in motion
Time unwinds
The Great Conductor
Leads and pines
His creation
His delight
Evidenced by His faithfulness and His provision of abundance and might

There's an old man in a park
And he's walked the path
And he asks God how'd he do...
Was he just a fool...
From year to year,
Had he drawn near...
Had he brought Him glory...

There's an old woman in a park
And she watches family play
And she asks God do they see...
She serves the Prince of Peace...
From year to year,
Had she drawn near...
Had she brought Him glory...

Days in motion
Time unwinds
The Great Conductor
Leads and pines
His creation
His delight
Evidenced by His hope and His love of depth and height

Days in motion
Time unwinds
The Great Conductor
Counts not like you or I
Seeking all with patience and grace
The evidence is there
Let Him take His place
