She sits and stares out of her window
Gazing at the passers-by;
Are they filled with joy or sorrow -
Do they often laugh or cry?
A neighbor's working in his garden
Watering his plants and lawn;
Has he received his Master's pardon,
Or is he still the devil's pawn?
A couple lounges in their deck chairs
Soaking in the morning sun;
Do they ever say their prayers,
Or do they only live for fun?
It saddens her as she looks out
To know many are lost out there;
That people live in fear and doubt,
Or that some simply do not care.
Don't they know there's more to life
Than what the eye can see?
They live their whole lives rife with strife
When they could be at peace and free.
