I don't need your empty words
Your comfort or your praise.
I don't need your smiles or tears.
Friend, I just need your prayers.

I don't need another card
That's full of sympathy.
I simply need the knowledge
That someone's praying for me.

I don't want any flowers
Or chocolate to make life sweet.
I simply need a friend to pray
And save me from defeat.
