Is an old saying we've heard.
However, every good Christian
Should watch his every word.
"Keep the door of my lips,"
David's prayer, we can pray,
For we can surely hurt others
By some hasty words we say.
We can also hurt our children
By the critical words we use.
We should seek God's wisdom
To guide the words we choose.
Lord, help me watch my words.
Your wisdom, I humbly seek.
May the way I speak to others
Be in a manner mild and meek.
