"God's Wings"

by Ginger Sizemore

After a bad forest fire
In Yellowstone National Park
The forest rangers found
Something hidden in the dark

It was a body of a bird
Scorched next to the ashes
With a stick he knocked it over
He found the hen's stashes

Three tiny fuzzy turkey chicks
Scurried from under the body badly burned
She could have flown away
But for her babies she was concerned

The babies grew to full grown
And gave their molted feathers
Stay steadfast in your faith
Show love in your get-togethers

An artist took the feathers
And added his fine art
Painted with so much love
He had hidden in his heart

Time waits for no one
Every moment is a treasure
Share your Love and show it
Like God's Loving splendor
