The Love of Christ

Dear Jesus You died on the Cross for me
Your glory shines out for the world to see
A love so great, a soul so true
You gave to all who believe in You

Your path never faltered, Your destiny fulfilled
Your footsteps guided by Your Fathers will
Every time You stumbled, every time You fell
The outline of every reddened lash welt

Is testimony of Your perfect soul
You let Your cup empty so ours could be full
You stood alone, You put Yourself last
So God would forgive us our sinful pasts

And now because of Your love for me
One day my troubled soul can be free
Finally released from these earthbound ropes
