There's a blanket of love you can lift up today
To put round your shoulders and not take away
A love that was offered since the beginning of time

God offers us cleansing and freedom from sin
His Spirit to guide us and teach us within
Our Saviour to walk with us as homeward we climb

One day we won't be able to reach out and take
That blanket of love. We may have left it too late
Our life may have ended or midnight has chimed

Today is the day you need all of His love
You hunger and grieve for a blanket of love
