Unsteady

by Ryan Caldwell

What if I stumble and what if I fall.
Would there be any need for it all.
Here I am I did it again.
Lost control and peddled in sin.
What does it take to stay on top?
I have to keep going, I cannot stop.
One minute I am strong.
One minute I am weak.
I am down in the valley.
I am up on the peak.
In the dark valley, I will cry, I will seek.
Unto the high mountain, I will climb, I will reach.
I cannot run away, I have to come back.
Pulling it together, picking up slack.
Oh lead me thru the dark cold night.
Into the morning so I can see the light.
Now is the time, will I stumble, will I fall?
I have to stand high against this monster so tall.
It is now, not later, and surely not tomorrow.
I have to take charge, no pain, no sorrow.
The spirit not broken and my heart not grieved.
My Father will guide, I will listen, he will lead.
Knelt at the cross, let it go, let it lay.
Up off my shoulders my debts been paid.
Two steps forward and one step back.
From the love above that will never lack.
Thank you for mercy that I do not deserve.
I will live, I will go, my Lord I will serve.
Yes, I will walk, and yes, I will fall.
Of course I will stumble, and of course I will crawl.
Power of persistence is the road I choose.
This race I will win, I cannot loose.
