Acceptance

by Ryan Caldwell

Here I am, yes it is me.
Just another person with your eyes can you see?
What a road to travel to search for love.
Someone who cares and someone who loves.
If only they knew what it does to me.
They'd open their hearts to understand and to see.
Why am I different when we are all the same?
We need to show love as we proclaim Jesus name.
Did we wake up and choose what it is we would like.
While some like to run, and some like to hike.
Did you choose to like vanilla, or did you choose to like chocolate?
We're all the same, does it matter, we must stop it.
The road has been tough like the rugged terrain.
Would you open the door, or leave me in shame?
As tears fall down is there anyone to love?
To pick me from the ground instead of lying in mud.
I do know one thing, to Him I do matter.
Words are a fist; hit a window it will shatter.
Now is the time, will I go or will I stay?
The words don't matter, I refuse to fade away.
I'm going to keep going and I will not stop.
I'm breaking the chains and cutting the locks.
So here we go now, yes it is time.
We all face hard battles, does it matter, just be kind.
