ROCK BOTTOM

by Teresa R Earlywine

I slipped into
the lowest depths.
The weight of my sin,
my spirit oppressed.

Jesus lifted me up,
my spirit eased.
I'm grateful for His love,
that He died for me.

The darkness has been cast,
into a watery grave.
The Light stands before me,
because of Him, I'm saved.

Rock bottom has become,
a distant memory.
Thanks be to God,
it has no hold on me.
