As on the road of life I trod,
Without the Savior's love.
I walked the way my mind would go,
And gave no thought to above.
On this journey a Man I met,
I knew not what to do.
Then as I grew to know Him more,
My heart began to stew.
He told me of a pardon way,
that I could have for free.
When at His feet I'd humbly bow,
and confess it all you see.
He showed me of the wrong I'd done,
Without the judgment seat.
As I confessed my sins to Him,
Forgiveness came to me.
I arose from knees in light divine,
With gladness in my heart.
I looked to those who'd done me wrong,
And pardon did impart.
True joy, one cannot know,
until the slate is clean.
Within your own heart first must be,
Then forgive a friend indeed.
Now down the road of life I go,
A stranger, I do not know.
Because he pardoned all my sin,
I've grace enough to show.
