Knowing

by Gertrude Jefferies

Never alone, though I'm lonely
Never forgotten or ignored.
And never in perilous moments,
Am I "out of sight" to my Lord.
There's no power in earth or heaven
That could ever separate me,
From the love of God my Father,
Who constantly takes care of me.

When I'm sick, he's my Physician,
My Compass, should I lose my way.
My Light, when I walk in darkness,
My strength, in the midst of the frey.
The Bread, that keeps me from hunger,
He's my Friend, when I walk alone.
The Door through which I will enter
Into heaven, my beautiful home.

The Death that He died on Cal'vry,
The Blood that was so willingly spilled,
Opened a doorway to heaven
For every man, boy woman and girl.
One day He will call me from heaven
One day He will welcome me home,
And I'll spend eternity with Him,
Nevermore from Him to ever roam.
