-The Conclusion-

by Bryan Miles

I've come to the conclusion
That no matter what you do
There is a fate for every man
They're going to bury you
No matter how you live your life
You'll be covered up with dirt
Whenever you close your weary eyes
You'll become some bug's dessert
They'll fill you up with formaldehyde
And call you someone's stiff
And then you're six feet under
Where no one gets a whiff
No one gets a whiff of you
You're facing one more door
But this is when we all find out
Just who we we're living for

Imagine this, a skeleton
Rattling his bones
Shaking so profusely
You can almost hear his moans
He's walking down a corridor
Looking all around
The clinking, clanking of his steps
An eerie, echoing sound
Along the way he leaves a trail
A shadow followed by dust
Carrying with him treasure
Corroded by moths and rust
He hands the treasure to Jesus
Then, bows before His throne
There is no blood atonement
He stands there on his own

Draw your own conclusion
Where do you think he went?
It's much too late on the day you die
To force an argument
If you want to have a different fate
Better do it while you're livin
A bag of bones may rattle
But it cannot be forgiven
Someday soon like every man
You'll take your very last breath
A dry-boned clunking skeleton
Can't escape the hand of death
The conclusion I'm concluding
That can make a foolish man wise
Better give your heart to Jesus
Before you close your eyes
Then it doesn't matter where they bury you
Or frankly, just how deep
He will raise your spirit, and your soul
Though your skeleton's asleep

They'll be no clinking or clattering
You won't be covered in mud
The conclusion is eternal life
When you're cleansed by Jesus' blood...
