-The Masterpiece-

by Bryan Miles

A masterpiece doesn't always hang
High on a museum's wall
Or on top of a giant billboard
Of skyscrapers standing TALL.
It doesn't always light the sky
Or stand out among the crowd
But always write from within your heart
And your message will scream out LOUD!
There's something about the honest words
That bathe and cleanse the soul
Don't worry about what others say
God is in control.
He inspired man from long ago
To write His words of truth
The wrinkled hands of the aged
The flight-filled hands of youth.
He placed His powerful message
Into the hands of men
Words that have touched the ages
Time and time again.

No matter if you finger-paint
Or brush with skillful stroke
If what you say leads the blind man's way
Then hey my friend you've spoke
If the words you put on paper
Leap into someone's heart
Then you are honing into your craft
And you are doing your part
A foolish man might walk away
But he'll be back some day
Checking out your canvas
And asking you to pray

So what about it Christian friend
Has God given you a gift?
He'll help you with your masterpiece
There's no other name to lift
Then the precious name of Jesus
Be it pencil, pen, or ink
Simply write down what He gives you
You'll become a chosen link
There are many halls in Heaven
Hanging wondrous works of art
That are painted by the faithful ones
With Jesus in their heart...
