-A Colorful Cloak-

by Bryan Miles

From the moment of conception and the sperm awoke
God formed you into a colorful cloak
He reached inside your mother's womb and knit you together
A colorful cloak for all kinds of weather
He made you something special that would stand out in a crowd
-Hand Stitched By The Father- Your Father was proud
He tailored and pressed you, the sleeves were just right
A colorful cloak shines best in the light
Yes, a colorful cloak for all the world to see
But time catches up, for you and for me

The cloak dimmed in brightness faded by sin
The collar choked tightly around the chin
The pockets once filled with experience and pride
Were tattered and torn, and empty inside
The buttons popped off, the cloak lost its luster
You tried to move forward with all you could muster
A colorful cloak, not looking so good
You called on the Father as every man should
The Father looked down, and He sent His Son
To color your cloak just like you'd begun
His Son wore a cloak that was covered in red
He brought back to life your cloak that was dead
So, button up proudly, the price has been paid
Give praise to the Father, you are wonderfully made...
