This Plea I Make

Oh Lord, listen to this plea I make
and help your son for your mercy sake.
You hear me calling every day and night
so shine on me the glory of your light.

I pray to do your purpose and your will
and that is all I want to fulfill.
I need a friend who can ease my pain
to catch me from falling into shame.

When I was young I searched for you
and now I'm old and I still do.
So listen, Lord, to this plea I make
and help your son for your mercy's sake.
