My Stand

by jeff oliver

To die in Christ is to live.
For Jesus my life I would give.
He is my salvation and my best friend.
He is my life, it will never end.
My body you can beat, stab and kill.
I will never turn away from his glorious will.
There's nothing you can do to slow down my pace.
You can slap me, kick me, even spit in my face.
Jesus died for me, I will not let him down.
For someday in Heaven I'll wear a crown.
The hard part's not over even though I've come far.
Jesus leads in the fire, He is the star.
I must give credit to The Holy Spirit too,
Without his guidance what would I do?
God's the I am, He's the man with the plan.
He saw the end before it barely began.
I praise the Lord for my soul he did save.
Thanks to my God I fear not the grave.
Before I met Jesus my life was a fright.
Thoughts of my death kept me up late at night.
Satan locked me in fear, played havoc on my nerves.
Soon my Jesus will give him what he deserves.
Satan knew I would be here and with words make my stand.
He took one of my fingers, Ha Ha, It was the wrong hand.
Only My Father can do things just right.
That's why I surrender to his glory and might.
