God and I

by Kathleen Higham

I stuttered and stammered
Breathed a peaceful sigh
For my Father God so loved me
He let His only son die
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

How could this miracle happen?
To feel free and complete
For my Father God so loved me
As nails pierced His Son's feet
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

There is no condemnation
My sin was washed away
For my Father God so loved me
He gave everything on that day
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

Each morning as I pray
Words spoken in His name
For my Father God so loved me
Allowed Christ's suffering and shame
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

Another day shall surely pass
And all my fears will flee
For my Father God so loved me
He shared the Cross of Thee
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

Oh my Savior in Heaven!
Who sees the tears I cried
For my Father God so loved me
When to this life I died
Forever bound to Him
God and I.

Romans 8:38
"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
