Grandma's Prayer Cups

by Margaret Cagle

I have a collection of tea cups
All sitting on a shelf in a row.
With each one, there is a memory
Of praying for someone I know.

We used these lighthouse cups
When Ann and I had our tea.
We prayed for her Mom's eyes.
They healed, and she can see.

These cups with little kittens
Held coffee when Jane was a guest.
That day we prayed for her hubby
To be safe when he flew out West.

These butterfly cups remind me
Of Sarah, my granddaughter, you see
She likes pictures of butterflies.
I pray for Sarah when I have tea.

This cup with pretty praying hands
Was a gift from my friend Sue.
She is now a missionary in Japan.
I'll remember to pray for her too.

This cup just says, "My Grandma."
I use this cup almost everyday.
I have six precious grandchildren,
And for each of them, I must pray.

Well, I have many, many other cups
Which are just as special too,
So I have much tea and pray a lot,
For that's what some grandmas do.
