Who am I now?

by sharon di

Who am I, you may wonder, you may ask
I used to be a shadow living behind a mask
A mask with many colorful faces
That gives me thousands of rainbow hiding places
I lived with high walls round about
Keeping me in, locking them out
Seeking in vain for the perfect refuge
But found my fears frighteningly huge
I was lost and miserable
Hope was just beyond the impossible
But when I met my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
He answered all my whys and paid my sin's great price
He was the comfort and refuge to my tired soul
He took my broken heart and made me whole
For He bid me pardon and gave the sweetest sacrifice
He loved me so much that for my sins He died
Now who am I, you may ask?
To serve and glorify is my lifelong task
With all my being, shall I give praise
For I am a sinner saved by His grace
