Life's Forgotten People

by Gertrude Jefferies

We see them on park benches,
In hallways and alleys, too
In all they've heard today, Lord
Did anybody mention You?
"God bless you, Jesus loves you"
Did anyone stop to say?
And I wonder in all my doings, Lord
Did they see" Jesus" in me today?

In bus depots and train stations,
They huddle every day,
And no one really seems to care
Or be bothered in any way.
They're homeless, Lord, and hungry
Both physically and spiritually,
And I wonder in all my doings, Lord
Did they see Jesus Christ in me?
