Dear Lord, teach me the humble ways
Which Thy sweet Presence brings,
Lest I have my mind set too much
Upon vain earthly things;
Lest in pride I miss Thy Fullness,
Or lose Thy Inner Flame,
Foolishly seeking temp'ral wealth
To my ultimate shame.
Lord, Keep my eyes upon Thy Face.
Let earth's plasures decay,
For I'm aware that when I die,
They all shall pass away.
Only Thy Eternal Presence
Shall last where angels sing.
So, as in Glory--here on earth
Please be my Everything.
"Speak, Lord--for thy servant heareth."
1 Samuel 3:10
