We All Have A Past

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all cringe . . .
at the memories they bring.

We all need to find,
God’s favor and grace
we all need God’s mercy
so the past we can face.

We all have feelings,
of resentment and ill-will
we all wince . . .
at how others make us feel.

We all need to find,
God’s healing peace
we all need God’s mercy
so our pain He can release.

We all have suffered,
the heartache of rejection
we all recoil . . .
when the past we mention.

We all need to find,
God’s way to forgiveness
we all need God’s mercy
so we can be rid of bitterness.

We all have a past,
filled with painful things
we all need God’s mercy
and the grace that it brings!
