The Best Gift

The "Word Incarnate" came down to earth
The King of Heaven, in lowly birth.
He laid aside his Deity
And became a man like you and me.
He came with a mission- a job to do,
To bring salvation to me and to you.

In bondage to sin we all have been
since Adam and Eve in the garden sinned.
That sin separated us from God
Since then a different path we've trod.
But God so loved the world that he
Gave his precious Son, our proxy to be.

He died on Calvary in our place
A Sacrifice for the whole human race.
He paid sin's price and set us free
Gave his life voluntarily.
And to all who would his gift embrace
Will have eternity to behold his face.
