Because You Love Me So

As I am broken, emptied, changed;
it feels so good to know
that You are with me every step
because You love me so.

This attention's neither deserved nor won
by wonderful things I've done.
The price is far beyond my reach;
already paid in full by Your Son.

That You choose to step from time
and space to meet me every day
uplifts my heart and deepens my faith -
helps me change along the way.

Life can be hard, overwhelming,
and just too tough to bear.
But not if we turn to You;
entrusting You with our every care.

Abba, Father! Accept my meager
thanks from this overflowing heart.
My gratitude needs to be expressed
for each day's brand new start.

Sometimes the pain of my sin
just shames me through and through.
But Your love and mercy speak to me
saying, "I love you so...I do!"
