More Than I Can Bear

by Magdalena Rodriguez © 2006

A love given from the Lord
I come to cherish and adore.
He placed in me a love so strong
I knew together, we belonged.

This true love born inside my heart
Is slowing hurting and falling apart
What happened to this love so pure?
I thought all struggles, it can endure.

Seeds of hurts, harbored within
We thought we were cleansed along with our sins.
Our past has planted some doubt of our love
And now we question, what’s given from above.

This pain and emptiness of a broken heart
Is more than I can bear, I’m torn apart.
Why does love have to hurt so bad?
I walk in emptiness, I feel so sad.

All I can do is entrust my broken heart
For you Lord to mend and do your part.
Help me to fight what the enemy’s doing
Because this love given is worth pursuing.

I place this love in My Master’s Hand
To fulfill what He bound for His perfect plan
In the meantime I’ll endure all that comes my way
Until we’re made ONE on that special day.
