The Last Sleep

My eyes, when last they close,
And I awake in bliss,
I'll be with Him who rose,
Sweet night that feels His kiss.

Never more weeping tears,
Just joy and love and grace.
Gone now the haunting fears
As I soon leave this place.

He'll take me by the hand
And walk me through that gate.
For I'm no longer banned.
Great glory, I now wait.

The promise shall come true
From Him who gave His life
As only He can do
That dead is gone - There's life!

1 Corinthians 15:54-56
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
