Let it Go

by T Rock © 2022

The memory of the wrong is all that remains
Steals the happiness, kept bound in chains
What matters is being right, no further debate
Retribution, the sustenance that feeds the hate

Tell everyone who would listen why refrain
Plotting whatever will inflict the ultimate pain
Shout their darkest secret; don't let them save face
Leave them afraid, alone, and in total disgrace

Peace will never be found; there is a better way
Fold your hands, look upwards, kneel, and pray
Forget revenge, the hurt, the anger burning slow
Tell God, place it in His hands, and just let it go

Pray for all enemies to be blessed and then forgive
Free yourself, your spirit, your soul, and truly live

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15
