PRAYER FOR THE BLIND

by Peter the Poet
www.youtube.com/channel/UC_GtbBeRm8ctYlmNqax4afA

You say you believe but you don't know the Word,
You judge everything by the stories you've heard,
You wander through life as you joke and pretend,
You don't give any thought to what waits at life's end.

You wallow in sin but you think you live well,
You don't realise there's millions just like you in hell,
You walk this world blind but not by your choice,
You have heard all your life the enemies voice.

All the people you know are in likeness of mind,
All seek of the Earth and of the Earth they might find,
All live day to day seeking money and wealth,
All don't see the judgement approaching with stealth.

All their wisecracks and teasing are aimed at God's sheep,
All feeling self righteous each night before sleep,
All revel in works and philosophy of man,
All take what they want whenever they can.

Why can't you see past the crooks on TV,
Why listen to everyone else except me,
Why bow to the opinions of a family in sin,
Why not push darkness out and let the light in.

Why carry on stumbling on a path full of holes,
Why not set your sights higher on Heavenly goals,
Why inherit your death when you can have life,
Why not change and become a good Christian wife.

I love you you see and my feelings won't change,
I will always stand by you though you see me as strange,
I would die for you to have a chance to be free,
I want you to see a good example in me.

I hope that this work hits a spot in your heart,
I hope that that spot wants to make a new start,
I pray everyday that you'll open your eyes,
I pray you'll see through the Deceivers disguise.

AUTHORS NOTE:
To everyone with unsaved relatives I share your pain. But we must take comfort in the fact that God moves in his own time for the best good. I know that there are times when we don't understand why God will not act and relieve our distress right this second, but this attitude only makes the pain greater. It is indeed a hard life we have chosen by believing in Jesus, even our own families ridicule us, but we should be joyful and unashamed in their presence so that they can see that they are the ones missing out on something.
