The Next Worldly Flavor

by T Rock

Nobody seems to want to talk about the Father our God
Even when one is humble, not being over-bearing or odd
It is clearly of no importance to them or what they care about
To pray "Dear Lord" would be considered obnoxiously devout

Rarely do you ever hear someone mention Jesus's name
Afraid, as if they would be shunned or cast out with shame
Thinking, He must be a lunatic for loving everyone
And preaching that the Spirit is in Him, and He is God's son

No one wants to discuss the concept of Heaven anymore
They do not want to consider death and what is in store
Eternity is something they cannot fathom or understand
A more reasonable definition is what they demand

Something more scientific like the first-atom theory
Still not proven, offering nothing beyond a life so dreary
It allows them to define their morals of how to live
What is in it for me, self-gratification, not having to give

So, go ahead and develop a taste for Jesus if you want to
But don't be surprised if the world stands up and hates you
For no one wants to consume the Word of God and the Savior
When it is easier to feast on and devour the next worldly flavor
