Falling Into Grace

by Catherine Weeks © 2019

My life was dark and lonely
I felt I had no worth.
Sin was my companion
Bitter my path on earth.

My heart was bruised and broken,
My spirit dulled by shame.
Then I heard Your voice within
And called upon Your name.

Arms spread wide, face to the sky,
I take the first, small step-
I'm supported by Your love
I'm falling into grace.

Though I can't always feel You,
I trust in Your strong hand
Leading me toward glory
On paths I don't understand.

I can't see one step ahead.
Fear sometimes closes in.
I trust ever in Your words,
Walk as victor over sin.

Arms spread wide, face to the sky,
I take the first, small step-
I'm supported by Your love
I'm falling into grace.

The future may be hidden,
The path all rough and worn
But onward I walk in faith
Not forsaken nor forlorn.

I trust in You, my Father,
And keep close to Your son
I believe with all my heart
You'll finish what You've begun.

Arms spread wide, face to the sky,
I take the first, small step-
I'm supported by Your love
I'm falling into grace.
