Help Me To See

by Sybil Fulk

Help me to see what my eyes cannot see
Guide me to the place that you want me to be
Teach me to shun the unending debates
And focus on how to communicate
Find me wherever I may try to hide
And that wherever I am, you'll abide
Unleash the anguish I bury so deep
Give me relief from the shadows I keep
Follow my footsteps for I may get lost
Taking the road that my path has crossed
When I awake, show me more than the crowd
If I don't hear you, shout clearly and loud
Open my eyes when I just want to sleep
Dry all my tears as I silently weep
Carry my spirit from the dark to the light
Show me that there's no place that's too bright
Lead me to what is my ultimate fate
May it be clear before heavens gate
Give me your favor and answer my prayer
Show me, in spite of myself,
that you care
