GOD’S FLOWER GARDEN OF MOTHERS

by Nettie French

O' could I send a message
Up to heaven on this day,
To tell Mother how we've missed her,
Through the years she's been away.

Each Mother's Day brings back again
Sweet memories of the past.
Although her steps are heard no more,
Our thoughts of her still last.

Today is Mother's Day down here.
We'll wear a rose of white,
In memory of that precious one
That God took home one night.

It's always Mother's Day up there,
In that Great Land above.
God knew it couldn't be complete
Without a Mother's love.

So He gathered from the garden here,
That host of Heavenly Saints,
For He needed the rose as well as the bud
For the scenery He must paint.

There are those up there who have older grown,
With hair of snowy white
And with them are the young and fair,
With faces so shining and bright.

He takes the young and tender buds
And the flower that is in full bloom
And the ones were the petals have begun to fall,
That His garden might be well groomed.

If we could but gaze on that Heavenly sight,
Just one glimpse through the open door,
We would want to go there, to that garden so fair,
Where we'll where the white rose no more.
