Our Spiritual Race

by Margaret Cagle

All born-again Christians
Are in a life-long race.
One gets qualified to enter
By being saved by grace.

How do we keep in shape
So we can run our very best?
How can we finish it well
Until we take our final rest?

Let's stay in God's holy Word.
Let's read and study it too.
Let's pray and seek God's will
Until our race is through.

When an olympic race is run,
A corruptible crown is the goal.
We run for incorruptible crowns
That endure while the ages roll.

Let's serve our dear Savior
Until our spiritual race is run.
Then one day we'll hear Him say,
"Come home, my child, well done!"

I Corinthians 9:24-25
