Both of my most recent poems, Psalm 114 and Psalm 115, have alternating lines of 9 and 8 syllables; yet each of them forces the reader to read the poems with different cadences and rhythms. 35 more to go before I complete all 150 Psalms. Praise God!

When Israel departed from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of foreign tongue, Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. The sea observed and fled; the Jordan turned back; the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. Ps 114

Psalm 107
I finished writing my poem, Psalm 106, nearly 4 months ago. And in that span of time, I didn't write a thing . . . until around Easter. I really liked the repetition I found in Psalm 107: the falling away of God's people and returning again once more.
