Christ in Sight

Old promises filled with rust
fading dreams decaying trust,
dusty hopes, lost long before
shaking my faith to the core.

living, just a sense of duty
disconnected from life's beauty,
blue's melody loudly swears
love broken by bitter tears.

scarlet hues of sunsets past
hidden by the shadows cast,
grey clouds mist my hopes delight
failing to keep Christ in sight…

God's promises are always new
inspiring visions that are true,
restoring hope, lost long before
transforming faith to long for more.

living, just for duty put to death
life's beauty embraced with every breath,
mercy's melody guides my days
love now healing my broken ways.

scarlet hues of a new sunrise
not dependent on how one tries,
light of grace creates hopes delight
remember to keep Christ in sight!
