The Door To Jesus

by Robert Hedrick

The door leading to nowhere is always
open straight ahead,
Leaving those who enter in, confused
and feeling mislead.
For the picture that's been painted was
anything but true,
False advertising at it's best as only
Satan himself could do.

Then once this door closes, reopening
it can be a chore,
Although Satan will not help solve our
problem, he will add more.
He's good at painting pretty pictures
and leaving an ugly stain,
One that continues for a time, laying
a trail of sorrow and pain.

This door to nowhere exempts none, for
the stout hearted go through,
Thinking that it could not happen, yet
they go in as if on cue.
To situations with a future to nowhere
as warned by the door they entered,
Placed into questionable surroundings
where their lives will be centered.

There's a door that opens to the knock
of all believing they can find,
A Higher Force to put their trust into
and leave the worldly things behind.
Discovering through this door A Savior
is adding names to heaven's book,
So whatever your situation is, this is
the door you don't overlook.
