Time

by Joy Wieters

Time is of essence here,
Beauty without the fear.
Love, drawing very near.
I don't want "me", but "we're".
And time is of essence here.

The old days are gone and past.
Good times never seem to last.
How did time catch up so fast?
And now the future seems so vast.
And time is of essence here.

Oh that I could stop the time!
Have all day to make this rhyme.
Though they say I'm in my prime,
Mt. Growing Up is hard to climb.
And time is of essence here.

I don't know what to say or do,
Except Lord keep in tune with You.
When everything is overdue,
The thread of time You make brand new.
And time is of essence here.
