Satisfied

by Joy Wieters

At night it creeps in,
This disturbance within.
My heart in a knot,
Don't feel as I ought.
Today was just fine -
I don't mean to whine.
T'was actually great -
My physics forsake!!
Why I don't smile,
Haven't for awhile,
Is mystery mine,
My thought tied with twine!
I can't seem to breathe,
My poor stomach seethes.
Not enough air to cry,
And I wonder why
I'm feeling this way.
Well, one thing to say,
To myself I have lied:
I'm dissatisfied.
I have no time to think.
My days are a blink -
But this not the reason
I'm trudging this season.
I lack determination -
As does this dear Nation.
Satisfied not,
With life as we ought.
So what did I do,
When I this way too?
Out of the dust;
"It's satisfied or bust!"
My voice I not hide:
"I will be satisfied."
