Bitter Sweet

by Joy Wieters

Driving through town on a summer night.
My foot starts to hurt and I'm trying to write.
But I feel today was well done;
And tomorrow will hold lots of fun.
All of life is this way,
Bitter Sweet, every day.
I'm trying to be someone new,
But that means leaving old things too.
In moving I am terrible,
Cause leaving is unbearable.
But new home, new friends?
Grace from God never ends.
In all of life, change is hard.
Oftentimes it leaves you scarred.
But all of this is Bitter Sweet,
Balanced by good things we meet.
In death, moving, and growing up,
In change, in life, keep looking up.
God is always there for you,
And He will always pull you through.
Good sweet things will never end,
Away the bitter God will send.
When all of earth is done and through,
And Beauty of heaven doth come true.
Just keep looking for the sweet,
And the bitter shall be beat.
Here where Joy and heartache meet,
Tis described as Bitter Sweet.
