The Perfect Savior

by Joy Wieters

The perfect Savior,
Without a doubt.
The spotless Lamb,
Strong and Stout.
Broken down,
Nailed on High.
The Son of God,
Born to die.
The sinner's name,
Upon His head.
For you and me,
His blood was shed.
Because He loved,
He sacrificed,
Because He knows -
He was the price.
The only One,
In all the world,
Who could die,
While we oft twirled-
Into our lives,
Of painful sin.
All our anger,
And immorality held Him.
He could have called,
His angels then,
But a failed Sacrifice,
That would have been.
He held His arms,
Upon that cross,
To show His love,
To hurt and lost.
