To My Garden

by Donna Hendrix

I come to my garden in the early morn
As the sunlight trickles across dewy thorns
I talk with my Lord about my needs and concerns
I listen intently for His will to discern
I pray that my heart, His Spirit will fill
And I pray not for mine, but for my Father's will

To my garden I go for my every need
Just as my Savior did; oh yes indeed
My Father walks with me in the still of the day
Giving me guidance along the narrow way
I ask for His strength, His wisdom, and power
At the start of my day, in this special hour

I come to my garden especially to pray
To give thanks and praise for every day
I thank Him for His Son that died in my place
For His gifts of love, mercy and grace
I thank Him that His precious Son
Took up the cross so that His will was done

To my garden I go in hour of need
Just as my Savior did; oh yes indeed
His Father listened to His anguished cry
Sent to Him angels of comfort from on high
He does the same for you and for me
In our times of distress and agony

I come to my garden to sit and be still
For my empty cup to be lovingly refilled
I come to share my life with God above
Come to receive His amazing power and love
I look forward to my daily trek to the garden
To talk with the One who gives me pardon
