Walk With Me

by Donna Hendrix

Little girl holding her mommy's hand
Walking to school, oh so grand
Little boy pulling away from his daddy's hand
Walking to school like a little man

Crossing guard watching the children cross
Watching intently so none are lost
One little girl walking all alone
Wary look on her face did shone

Hold my hand as you walk through this day
God said, please don't pull away
I will keep your steps on the path you need
On the stepping stones, out of the weeds

God said, I will watch out for you
Make sure you are safe through and through
I'll never steer you down the wrong road
I'll always help carry your heavy load

I will never ever leave you alone
I am with you from dusk through dawn
No wary looks on your face to show
When Jesus Christ you come to know

One little girl walking all alone
Big smile on her face did shone
For she knew Jesus was holding her hand
The love of her Father, oh so grand
